The French and Indian War

The French and Indian War Map



  • The French and Indian War took place from 1754-1763.
  • The war was between Britain and France.
  • The French and Indian war was caused by both the French and British because both wanted their colonies to colonize near the Ohio River Valley. George Washington marched his troops to Fort Dusquesne where they encountered the French and began fighting, which let to the war.
  • The result of the French and Indian War was Britain in victory and they took over most of the lands of their New World. The Proclamation of 1763 was issued to keep settlers away from settling west of the Appalachian Mountains. Britain was in great debt and this is when Parliament had to issue the Stamp Act, however the British did not follow and then the Parliament issued the Declaratory Act.
